How a dipole antena actually works and what are its main functions are basic things that someone needs to know, whatever their techinical abilities. You may not know it, but many families have used it in their homes, including you. This antenna is probably the most familiar type in use of RF antenna. Most of the times this is used alone, and not together with other antennas. Advantages of building one are its easy to install and build. The basic thing that everyone needs to know about dipole antennas is that they consist of two poles which have radio frequency flowing from one to the other. The radio signal starts to radiate, as the antenna is under the influence of current and voltage. This way the antenna can be connected to the feeder. . This means that each cycle will have a maximum and a minimum reach. While this is the pattern of current, the voltage flow will be different. It will have a low middle and then at the very end it will go to its maximum. So at the center of the process one will be at its highest point, while the other at its lowest.

Another type of dipole antenna is the one named whip. This is the younger brother, as it is a monopole antenna. The whip antennas are less efficient to receive quality signals, compared to dipole ones. Advantages of monopole antennas are they need less space. For dipole antennas it is common the use of towers. One good example could be the Warsaw tower which is a radio mast and functions on the long wave. Military use the doublets of this antennas. Each one of the antennas that they use are set to work on a specific frequency.  According to each mission the type of antennas may change and they can have all sorts of other improvements.
